3-minute guide
How to export Douyin comments to CSV
Save every Douyin or TikTok comment and reply to a single CSV file on your device. UTF-8 encoded, structured, ready for Excel or pandas.
The four-step flow
-
1
Install the VideoSave extension
Add VideoSave from the Chrome Web Store. The free plan exports up to 10 comments per video, enough to test the format. Pro raises the cap to 2,000.
Tip: pin the extension to the toolbar so the icon stays visible — though you do not need to click it.
-
2
Open the video whose comments you want
Navigate to a Douyin or TikTok video detail page. Wait for the three injected buttons to appear on the right edge of the page before continuing.
Tip: feed pages auto-update as you scroll. The buttons follow whichever video is currently playing.
-
3
Click Export Douyin comments
Press the first injected button. A dialog opens showing progress (for example 412 of 2,000 comments). The export runs in the background — you can keep using the page.
Tip: long videos can take a minute or two to fully export. The progress dialog updates as new comments arrive.
-
4
Open the CSV file in your Downloads folder
When the export finishes, a single CSV file is saved to your Downloads folder. Open it in any tool that handles UTF-8 — Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, pandas, or even a text editor.
Tip: the filename includes the video title and a timestamp, so multiple exports never overwrite each other.
Frequently asked questions
What columns are included in the CSV?
Top-level fields: comment_id, author_name, author_id, text, like_count, reply_count, create_time, region, language. For each reply the same fields are repeated, plus a parent_comment_id column that links the reply to its parent. Nested replies are flattened — every row is one comment or one reply.
How many comments can I export?
Free plan: the first 10 comments per video, no replies. Pro ($10.99 one-time): up to 2,000 comments including replies, per export. There is no daily limit — you can run the export multiple times on different videos.
Does it support Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and other non-Latin text?
Yes. The file is written as UTF-8 with BOM so Excel on Windows opens it correctly. Google Sheets and pandas detect UTF-8 automatically. No encoding conversions are needed on your side.
Are replies included, or only top-level comments?
Replies are included on the Pro plan. Each reply is one row with its own author, like count and create time, plus a parent_comment_id column pointing back to the row it replies to. There is no depth limit beyond what the platform itself exposes.
Where does the CSV file go?
The CSV is written to your browser's Downloads folder using Chrome's standard download flow. The filename is generated from the video title plus a timestamp (for example douyin_comments_2026-09-30_19-58-54.csv), so you can run multiple exports without overwriting each other.
Is the comment text uploaded anywhere?
No. The export runs entirely in your browser. The CSV file is written directly to your device. Comment text, account names and IDs are never sent to any server by the extension.
